eliminate blank rows and columns after saving a worksheet

Dear all,

I have to save a worksheet wich is copied from another worksheet, but have
some columns and rows being deleted. After it is saved and reopened, I find
size of this file is of the same size with the original one, i.e. the
deleted rows and columns still exist as blank cells at the left most columns
and bottom most rows. What can I do to elimate these blank cells?
