I don't have a question about MS FrontPage. I have been asked if I'd like to
submit a suggestion. Indeed, I do, as follows:
It's tacky, in poor taste, disloyal to the loyal MS customers and leaves the
appearance that MS is greedy, when MS requires $25.00 and more to replace a
legitimately purchased and accidentally damaged CD.
I actually purchased my FrontPage 2000 CD, without the rest of the Office
suite, a few years ago. (Accompanied by a 2nd CD containing the program,
Image Composer) About six or eight months ago the middle hole developed a
crack that grew into the data and subsequently became worthless. After
querying Tech support for replacement procedure, I am shocked and disgusted
to learn that Microsoft actually has the Guile to charge ANYTHING for a
legitimate replacement, let alone $25.00 or $30.00! Nobody else does. For
example, the same thing happened to a couple of Borderbund tutorial CD's of
mine and these friendly capitalists fell all over themselves to promptly -
No, IMMEDIATELY - mail a replacement to my home for nothing. Shame on you
Microsoft. It's so piggish.
I refuse to pay twice and please don't insult my intelligence and try
justifying it as some sort of RE-STOCKING fee. Take a lesson from Borderbund
and nearly ALL of your competitors. If a little guy like me is willing to
shell out the CASH for legitimate software instead of getting it from the
file sharers or burning it, you'd better wake up and give this "endangered
customer population" some tender loving care instead of sticking your nose in
the air and demanding even more of my hard earned $$ cash $$.
Sorry for the length of the post. I was solicited for "any suggestions" on
the FrontPage Add-in site. Am I alone here?
