Email a task/to do

In Outlook 2007 you can assign a task to another party and Outlook then emails that task to that party.

Is there any way to at least email a task to a 3rd party in Entourage 2008.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but if you have a new
message window open, you can drag a to do item from the to do view to the
message window's Attachments section to attach it as an .ics file, which
most calendaring applications can read.

Hey Michael

Not as elegant as simply clicking a button that says 'Assign This Task' which then opens an address to field - but your tip certainly works - Thanks very much indeed!

Now if we could share Project Center with non-Entourage users that would be cool

Many thanks again

Our To Dos typically have project information in the Notes portion of the To Do.

If I send a To Do in the way you suggest to an Entourage user, the To Do gets added to the To Do list and contains all of the notes information.

Note - the To Do appears in the To Do list in calendar view but does not get added to the Entourage calendar.

Now -- if the same To Do is sent to an Outlook 2007 user, the To Do contains no note information but DOES get added to the calendar.

How the To Do behaves in relation to the calendar is of little consequence but the Outlook 2007 user not receiving the notes component is critical - otherwise the user has no clue about the project content.

Entourage does not support Tasks and Notes with Exchange Server.

Please be sure to let Microsoft know you'd like to see these features in
future versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism in any
Office application.

We are not referring in any way to Exchange. Simply -
In Outlook 2007 you can assign a task to another party and Outlook then emails that task to that party.

Is there any way to at least email a task to a 3rd party in Entourage 2008.

And sending it as an ICS to an Outlook user does not work - because Outlook does not know how to handle the 'Notes' portion of the Entourage task
