Hi. When my Outlook 2003 (on Windows XP) receives emails - one of the tasks
always fails and it gives the error message as below. I have a somewhat
complicated situation (for me) and need help with configuring my email
accounts. For historic reasons, my mailbox and ISP are with 2 separate
companies, I also have a web forwarding address from my website which is
hosted with a 3rd company (lets call it WebHost). I only use and give out
this address (i.e. (e-mail address removed)). I want to:
a) send emails as though they came from my Webhost address
b) receive all emails sent to my WebHost address into my Outlook client
c) use the faster internet connection line with my ISP
So I have 2 (POP) email accounts in Outlook set up as follows:
1) Mailbox account: incoming server is set to the Mailbox company’s server,
outgoing server is set to ISP’s server. With the correct logon username and
password.
2) WebHost account: incoming server is set to the WebHost company’s server,
outgoing server is set to ISP’s server. Again with the correct logon username
and password.
This has been working fine as I do receive my emails, but one of the tasks
always fails and it gives the error message “Incoming server not found,
server may be down, etc..†- this refers to the WebHost account as the
problem was not there before I created this email account. And I know that
the server is ok. Sending is fine. Can anyone help please?
(I do naturally need to keep all my current messages, folders, address book,
etc.)
Many thanks
