Email Accounts - workgroup => domain have emails but lost account

Neil Phillips

Hi,
Got a small problem, hope someone here can help me out.
I have a small network of PCs. I Outlook 2007 sp2 on one for my emails.
The PCs were networked via workgroup. Today I upgraded to active directory.
When I started Outlook after logging onto the domain I appeared to have lost
my emails and my email accounts.
Fortunately I found my .pst file and so have my emails back.
What I am still missing is the email accounts.
Since I am sitting at the same physical PC and I am both admin and user I
think I should be able to regain my email accounts simply.
However I am at a loss as to where to look for the file I need and what to
do with it once I found it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please.
BTW these are email accounts using pop3 & smtp.
Thanks
Neil

Yes same PC, was in a workgroup network, now in a domain network. I'll take a
trawl through the registry.
Thanks

so you are now logging the pc into the network? If so, the accounts are in
your registry in the windows account you used to use.

Back again.
I am looking through the registry but I do not do that very often.
Would I be correct in thinking I should be looking in HKEY_USERS ?
Which key or key path should I be looking at ?
I understand that the user windows accounts appear in the format S-x-x-xx.
What I am asking about is where to look once I have identified the windows
account I need.
Thanks

HKEY_USERS\S-1-15-....\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVerison\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles, where "S-1-15-..." is the SID of the login you
were using.
