Hello - this is my first post - i've posted over at the microsoft forums and haven't gotten a response yet!
I am using Outlook 2007 to access my IMAP account. When I receive email from contacts with non-ASCII characters in their display name, I am unable to reply as Outlook mangles the display name in the To: field of the email.
For example:
Joëlle <joelle@****.com>
becomes
Joëlle <joelle@****.com> [=?ISO-8859-1?Q? Jo=EBlle _<joelle@****..com>?=]
(Note that if I attempt to copy & paste this text from the to: field to the body: field, it will look absolutely normal in the body field). If i attempt to send this message, I receive an error. I'd greatly appreciate any feedback or suggestions!
Also - the problem is described in detail here, but the solutions are for older versions of outlook/windows:
