Email Address for Contact

CindyS

I have a person in my email contacts that changed his
email address. I went into his contact information and
deleted the old email address and entered the new
address. When I compose a new email to him his name
automatically fills in and I noticed that it is still has
his old email address. I went back into contacts and
double checked to make sure his address had been saved -
it was. I went into deleted items and sent items to see
if his old email address was listed. I found a couple so I
deleted them. Still it pulls his old email address.

Any other suggestions?

The email address is stored in a file with an extension of .NK2 on your hard
drive. You cannot edit this file directly. However, as you start typing his
email and the old address is highlighted, hit the delete key on the
keyboard.

I should have stated that I am using Outlook XP. So, to
make sure I understand. I will type his name in the TO:
box and tab down to start composing my message, then once
the underline appears under his name hit the delete key?
I should be able to verify that his old email address is
selected by double-clicking on his name?

What you really need to do is have both addresses appear in the drop down
(the old and the new). If you force the new one to appear (by typing the
whole thing) and send an email to the new address, then try to start a new
email and start typing his name, as you enter the first couple of letters,
you'll get a drop down list that has both addreses. When you see both
addresses appear, use the arrow keys to highlight the incorrect one and
click the Delete key on the keyboard.
