Email Address Privacy

In my profile I have checked "have MS create a false email address". Nothing
personal, but I get enough junk as it is. However, I've posted two other
questions and checked the box to notify when there are replies. A box pops
up and asks me for my address. Will "that" address be private or will it be
public? You have my address on my .NET Passport registration. I'm confused.

Thanks for clarifying this.
