email address truncated to 24 characters with mailmerge to Lotus Notes

Hello,

I tried to perform a mail merge from MS word 2000 to Lotus Notes 6.0.3.

Everything works fine except for 1 thing:

the email adresses (which form a column in an Excel sheet) are
truncated to 24 characters when filled in in the Lotus "To:" field.

Anyone got a clue how to solve this one?
