Email alerts received for Deleted tasks

SCENARIO:

I have published a project plan with the following tasks:-
TASK A
TASK B
TASK C
My resources received the email alerts about their assignments and wa
working fine.

Few days back I deleted the task TASK A and published the plan again.
Now my resources are still getting email alerts on a daily basis fo
all the three tasks as mentioned above.

[ I remember that a reply from Dale Howard regarding such an issue. I
I am correct Dale mentioned about orphaned tasks and required to run
SQL script. I tried to search for that but failed ]

Please help.
