Email all contacts linked to an account

I have 2 questions related to e-mailing contacts:

In BCM 2007 is there a more elegant way of e-mailing all contacts
linked to an account, other than filtering the contacts and then
selecting all eg Ctrl A or Edit Select all. Then choose to create a
new message to business contact.

Secondly, once the contacts have been filtered I tired to use the mail
merge choosing all contacts in current view, merging all contact
fields, an existing document, form letter to e-mail. I get the
message: No contacts are selected. I can only mail merge if I first
select the contacts and then use the option selected contacts.
