email appearance/themes detach from Word?

T

treblet

In Vista I have set the appearance theme to High Contrast Black 1, excellent
for my vision. The theme goes over into Outlook which is fine for reading,
but does the black background go with the email to the reciptient? A
correpsondent writes me that my message to her was blank, probably because it
came out black and her typeface was set at black.
I want and need the High Contrast in Word and elsewhere in my work. Is there
any way (other than stopping using Word as editor in Outlook--which I don't
want to do because of spell check, etc.), any way to set up a
separate-from-Word theme appearance in OUtlook email outgoing?
Thanks,
