Email archive folder (pst) not appearing on burned CD. Help!!

I'm using Exchange. Trying to archive my old email folders into a project
folder. I archive it and then try to burn a CD with the email archive in it.
This is not showing on the CD when I try to read it.

You cannot read an outlook pst file on removable media since OL needs to be
able to write to it. Copy the file to your hard drive, remove the read only
attribute and use File. Open in Outlook to use the archive file.

So then there is no way to store archived emails on a disc? We are trying to
take old files off of the hard drive. Is there any way to store it on
removable media? Or is there another option for storing old emails?
