Email attachment is read only

I use my home PC to sync a MS access 97 database to my Palm Tungsten. I then
sent a copy of the file to my secretary at work. When I tried to open it on
her computer, it would not because it said it was read-only. When I checked
the file>database properties on my home computer it was not read-only.
What is happening? Does it become read only when attached to an email? What
do I do?
