Email attachments

I am having problems sending email attachments. I can
send/receive email without attachments. I can
send/receive email using my ISP's webmail interface with
or without attachments with no problem. I have tried
multiple email clients (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora)
and am still having problems sending attachments. I can
also send email with attachments using my dial up
connections. The problem is sending any Microsoft Office
documents with the corresponding extensions. If I were
to change the extensions, i.e. changing word.doc to
word.txt the attachment will send. Any and all
suggestions are welcome. I'm running Windows 2000 pro
with SP4. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that I have several workstations and
all of them are having the same problem over my BellSouth
ADSL 1.5/256k line with a Single Static IP address.

Hi,

I had the same problem just recently. In Outlook check your account
properties setup.
Under the servers tab in "Outgoing Mail Server" make sure "My server
requires authentication" is checked, select: Settings tab and select the
one that is appropriate for your situation. Usually it's: Use same
settings as my incoming mail server" (check with your ISP provider).

Are you on a router? If you are, check the router filters settings and make
sure that you have enabled and disabled the appropriate settings. The
router wasn't letting my attachments go through.
Hope it helps.

Regards,
JC
