I got a virus on my computer and had to clean the disk,
after saving data, of course.

I was running office in Internet Mail Only.

I have been considering changing either to Work Group or
Corporate.

In any event, when I reinstalled Office, and used Outlook
for the "first time," I hit Corporate rathan IMO.

It cannot find my data. I uninstalled, and resinstalled.
When I tried to use Outlook the second "first time" it
would not give me an option. Only no mail address.

I opened and went to Tools, but there was no Options menu
(greyed out).

How can I get back to IMO so that I can get my *.ast data?

Office does not have a mode, only Outlook.

If you have more than one user on Outlook, then CW mode makes sense.
Otherwise, stick with IMO as you have more options for how to send mail
using IMO. See here for the differences:

You can reconfigure mail support under Tools->Options->Mail Services Tab.
Ensure you have the Outlook/Office CD handy.

Use Control Panel to install Internet Mail service and give it some
credentials for your ISP's mail. This will allow Outlook to open. It
sounds like you have it in No e-mail mode (PIM only).

We will see if the prior tips will correct this for you. Also, if you are
using Personalized menus, don't forget to hit the down arrows.

Your data is in a .pst file, not .ast file. Look for the file using Windows
search. If you are using Windows XP or 2000, turn on the ability to search
hidden and system folders.
