Using Outlook 2003, SP-1. It's been working great for months, but suddenly I
have two issues. First one is when I click send/receive, I often get an
error msg saying "connection to the server was interrupted". I have not
recently installed anything. sometimes the send/receive request goes through
just fine, and other times it takes quite a few clicks before it will go. It
appears to be sending just fine, but has trouble on the receiving end.
Other issue is I occasionally will receive an email twice...again not all
the time, just spurious. Almost as if my email server doesn't recognize I
received it once. I get them both at the same time. When I check my email
via the web (mail.charter.net) instead of using Outlook, everything is
fine...only one message, and it always connects. Charter (email provider)
says my cable modem is working ok and the account looks fine too.
The worst problem is the first one. It's very frustrating to check for
email and be told the connection was interrupted. I thought I had somehow
got a virus after I started getting messages twice, even though I use Norton
Anti-virus religiously. so, to try and fix it, I completely uninstalled
Office 2003, rebooted, then installed it again. But, I still get the above
two errors. Not all the time, but most of the time.
Any thoughts?
Thanks...Joe
