Email exception report

Is it possible to somehow inform the Project Manager / Resource Manager
via email if a resource did not log his hours in timesheet for a
particular day. Can a report be generated with this informationand
emailed out?

Yes, and you can do it all with SQL reporting services. Unfortunately,
there's no way to do this through the UI.
