HI
I am using Outlook 2003 with Gmail. I have successfully configured the
settings and have been happily using the product.
I needed to do a Detect and Repair on another Office product which caused me
to reinstall Outlook 2003. I reinstalled the settings as per Google's
guidelines. I sent a Test account successfully and I can see that result on
the web version of Gmail.
The problem now is that email will not download from the server. I can send
an email successfully from my Outlook client ( I sent a test message to
myself), but no download information is shown in the Send/Receive dialog box.
I can import my emails from my outlook.pst up to the time when I did a fresh
install. I have disconnected the firewall and other security files. In any
case they did not interfere previously with Outlook. Every time I do a fresh
install I get the same problem.
The settings include port 995 for pop3 and 465 for smtp ie. Gmail needs SSL
authentication.
I am using a Dell Vostro 1700 with Vista Business
