Email for kids

My six year old daughter is very intrigued and curious about the
internet. She knows and understands that having access to the internet
is something different from just using a PC. I would like to introduce
her to the net, but fear exposure to unnecessary and adult sites. How
can I restrict her access to specific sites of her interest?

If you are talking about the internet in general there are a number Parental
Control type apps, some are included in Anti Virus suits
You might also want to set a specific windows user log on for her, with
restricted permissions
As for email, its difficult to stop all spam

Not an Outlook question. I would suggest looking for a site that has
parental suggestions for control of INternet access, sites, usage of e-mail
etc.

You can also question other parents in your neighborhood or school
counselors who should have some insight into this type of question, which
probably comes up pretty often.

Tell her not to enter her email address in websites without your permission.

Your six-year-old daughter should never use the Internet except while sitting
on your lap. Do not show her any web sites you don't want her to visit and
never allow her to use the computer without you. You might want to perform a
Google search for "child-friendly internet". Tools like
http://www.mykidsbrowser.com/ can be helpful. A list of ISPs that claim to be
"family-friendly" can be found at
http://www.kidshield.com/isps/filteredisps.htm
