Email form as PDF using Lotus Notes

I am trying to email a report from Access 2007
I select eMail then SEND OBJECT AS report.PDF
The system initiates a new email through Lotus Notes 6.5.5 and attaches
report.XLS. XLS not PDF....
This file will not open in Excel. I have to save the file, change the
extension back to PDF, then send it.

Why would the extension automatically change? How can I stop this from
happening?

Thanks,
Michael

Can you post the complete line in the VBA code with the SendObject.
Or are you doing this interactively or via macro?

Strange.

I also have an Excel document that I print to PDF. One of the sheets
contains a PivotChart. When I go to save the document, the preview displays
the Chart, but once I create the PDF file, the chart disappears.

On that issue I have no idea.

However you didn't answer my previous question.

Sorry, all I saw was your second comment... 'strange' and I thought that was
your entire response. I was a little confused why you would respond like
that... <grin>

I am sending this interactively. I am not using code. I open the database,
run the report. While the report is displayed I click the Office Button and
select E-mail. That brings up a 'Send Object As' dialog box in which I can
select the Output Format. When I select PDF Format (*.pdf) Lotus Notes
initiates a new email and promply places the file in the email, but with an
XLS extension instead of a PDF extension.

I am seeing the same issue.

My email is Lotus Notes 6.5.1, and I am generating a report in Access 2007.
The report has embedded subreports, so I can't send them as Excel files.

When I preview the report in Access 2007, then click the Microsoft Office
button and choose Email, and choose PDF format, my Lotus Notes client opens
and the report is often (but not always) inserted as CDB##.xls instead of
MyReportName.pdf

Then, when you attempt to open the file, Excel reports that it is an unknown
file format.

Emailing some other type of report (like rtf or xps) seems to work fine.

I have Access2007 SP2.

I think the problem has something to do with the temporary files created when
you open an attachment in Lotus Notes.

I found a temp file called MyReportName.pdf in my Notes Temporary files, and
I deleted it, and then I was able to email the PDF successfully.
