Email issue with two internet connections!

Dear all,

Anyone has experience in this issue please help me.
I use two internet connections (LAN and wireless) on my laptop so that I can
access two other office. And sometimes I have problem with Outlook Express.
It cannot send/receive email and ask user name and password.. I have to
disconnect one connection then it works again. Please help me.

That's not an uncommon problem when you're using two connections at the same
time. Outlook Express is probably looking for your mail on the wrong
connection at times.

Why do you have to use both connections again?

Also, please note that Outlook and Outlook Express are different programs.
There's a group for Outlook Express
(microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general).

I use two connections becuase I have two other offices in the same building.
I wonder we can change registry to fix this problem or...

Are you checking a single mail account with Outlook Express? And does
Outlook Express need to connect to any of the computers in the other offices
in order to get your mail? Or does it check an account on the Internet?

My OE just checks an account on the internet.
And I realy need to connect to any of the computers in the other offices.

OK. If you disconnect your wireless connection, does Outlook Express always
work via the LAN connection? And if you instead disconnect your LAN
connection, does Outlook Express then always work via the wireless
connection?

I take it the two offices to which you connect are not on the same network
-- are they maybe different companies?

Yes, they are two companies of Group so I have to find solutions to fix the
issue.

OK. Sorry I can't be more helpful after all these questions, but I
believe you actually have a fairly difficult problem -- and it's not an
Outlook Express problem, but rather a networking problem. I believe your
problem results from your computer getting confused as to where to look
for a connection to your mail server, as you probably suspected. And,
since each connection is to a different company network, you're likely not
able to get anyone at either company to make any changes that would make
each network "play nice" with the other.

Someone with more experience with networks may be able to suggest a way to
make Outlook Express work reliably while using both connections at the
same time, but I suspect it may not be a simple solution.

Is there any way you could simply switch back and forth between the two
networks as needed? For instance, do both companies have wireless
networks? In that case you could ONLY use wireless, and switch from one
wireless connection to the other pretty quickly and easily. I believe
that Outlook Express would work reliably if you did it this way.

For what it's worth, I work in the computer field, and have experienced
this same issue -- and have not yet been able to track down an easier
solution than the one I just mentioned.

Wrong newsgroup. Ask in microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general. Outlook
and Outlook Express are two different products.
