What version of Word? Word 2004 has a Tools | Data Merge Manager, and after
setting up the merge, there is a "merge to email" icon at the bottom of the
Merge palette. I'm fairly sure they've been changing the Data Merge in the
last few versions, but I don't think merge to email is particularly new.

I think it only works in conjunction with Entourage, which was developed for
Office 2001.

Yes: It's explained in the Word Help topic " Distribute merged form letters
as e-mail messages"

Depends. If you are using Mail.app, haven't a clue.

If you are sending the emails as HTML, no, because the way Entourage creates
HTML forbids other attachments.

If they are plain text emails, you should be able to attach the PDF, but the
merge function does not have an "attach this file" setting. In that case,
probably the best thing is to use a script in Entourage that will attach the
same file to all selected messages--each message has to be opened up,
attached, and resaved. I think it is possible to do it with a script,
though--not sure if a script already exists.

There are definitely scripts involving mass mailings for Entourage at
http://scriptbuilders.net/

You should also search the archives of the Entourage group, similar
questions have occasionally come up.
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage

If you have no luck in finding existing solutions in either of those places,
then post a question on the entourage newsgroup.
