Hi,

When doing an email merge in Word 2000, is there anyway of
using a field as the subject line?

Kind regards,

Dear Chris,

Thank you for posting.

Based on your description, my understanding of your concern is as following:
1. You had used mail merge in Word 2000 to send Emails. (select: Electronic
mail in the drop list of merge to option)
2. When you click "Setup" button in the dialog, you will be prompted to
input "mail message subject line"
3. You want you can also let mail merge to fill the input box of "mail
message subject line" through the data source file you had used in mail
merge.
Please let me know if my understanding is correct or not. If not, please
describe the issue as detail as possbile.

If my understanding is correct, I am sorry to say this feature is not
avaiable in Word 2000. You have to input the message in the input dialog
manually and there is no work round for this request. If you feel this
feature is neccesary, you are also welcome to add your supplements to make
Microsoft products easier and more powerful to use, visiting:

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Yep, Lee your understanding is correct.

Having spent some time looking for a solution, I had
figured that was probably the case, but thanks for
confirming it for me.

Kind regards,

Chris
