I'm using Outlook 2007 SP2. I have it configured to automatically read
emails every few minutes, and I have some rules which cause a window to pop
up notifiying me when a new email arrives. I've noticed something that's a
little annoying, although obviously not a huge problem, that would be helpful
to correct.
When I have several emails to read, generally I start reading from the
bottom of the list, i.e. I read the oldest emails first, and after reading an
email, I click the up arrow icon to advance to the next email. Normally,
that gives me the next email, chonologically, in the inbox. However, if
while I'm reading an email, a new email comes in and a notification message
pops up for the new message, when I click the up arrow, I don't get the next
message chronologically in the inbox, but instead I get the new message that
just arrived. When I read that new message and click the up arrow, no more
messages come up, suggesting that there are no more messages to read. In
fact, Outlook skipped over several messages. I would prefer that when I
click the up icon, that it doesn't skip to the newest message that just
arrived but continues to read them in chronological order. Is there a
setting to change this, or is this just a bug in Outlook?
