Email Organize (Color Msg)

Tom Tang

Hi,

When I turn on Messages sent only to me now appear Blue, then all the
messages sent to me have been turned blue.

Next, when I use "Color messages Sent To Me in Fuchsia", then all the
messages sent to me have been turned fuchisa, including those messages sent
to me ONLY.

Seems these 2 organize rule can not exist same time. Pls help to clarify.

Second, how can I find all the questions I posted before.

Best regards,
Tom Tang

Tom,
It's simple logic -- you can't have something be all blue and all
fuschia at the same time. If you set up conflicting rules, the results
are unpredictable.

I read these posts from google.com, if you do so then you can click on
"View Profile" next to one of your posts and you can view your posting

I should clarify a bit further -- you should probably re-arrange the
order that the rules fire.

"color msgs sent to me in fuschia" should be first.

"color email messages sent only to me in blue" should come afterwards.

Hi, JP,

Thanks for your quick repsonse.

That is why I could not fully understand the logic of the rules. (not sure
how there set the logic in the Outlook)

In my understanding, if I turned on both of these 2 rules, my expectation is
all the messages sent to me ONLY will be colored blue, and if I am only one
of the To people in the To distribution list, the message should be colored
in Fushcia only.

Is my understanding above correct? Pls help to clarify.

Again, I use the same color order as you said below.
"color msgs sent to me in fuschia" should be first.

"color email messages sent only to me in blue" should come afterwards.
Still the same, no Emails (sent to me only) colored Blue.

Best regards,
Tom

oooooooooooh,

Maybe the rule "color msgs sent to me" include "msgs sent to me ONLY" I
guess...

Hi, JP,

Not fully understand you reply for the history post.
I read these posts from google.com, if you do so then you can click on
"View Profile" next to one of your posts and you can view your posting
history.

I mean I can not find those posted question I raised in Office Discussion
Group.

Now you are getting it -- if you put the "blue" rule before the
"fuschia" rule, you will never get a blue email because "emails sent
only to you" is included in "emails sent to you" -- those emails will
turn blue and then quickly turn fuschia when the next rule fires. You
want the more generic rule to fire first.

Hi, JP,

In my understanding, the organize rule "msgs sent to me only" should have
high priority then the fule "msgs sent to me".

In general, what i want is mark those emails sent to me only in one color in
first priority, and mark those emails sent to me (I mean not include those
emails sent to me only) in another color in second priority.
Can we do that in Outlook 2007? Can you help?

I can't find a way to do that in OL 2003, so I don't think it can be done in
OL 2007, either. You can have the "Sent to <myaddress>" and "Sent only to
me" rules both enabled, but they don't seem to work in tandem. The "Sent
only to me" appears to override the "Sent to <myaddress>".
