email problem error 4362

I was deleting old messages in my inbox and this message appeared
"error 4362". The result is that between the old messages I saved
(less than 30) and the new messages I received there is a grey colored
area. When I click on the grey colored area, old messages appear that
I have kept, but as I keep revealing those old messages-I-want-to-
keep, I get to a grey area that is one message wide and the error
message comes on.

Can anyone help?

advanced rebuild of the database file.
