Email properties change

After running fine for approximately two months, my pop
and smtp server properties have reverted to the old
settings. I put in the new pop and smtp servers, save
them, and then close Outlook. When I restart, the new
settings have been replaced with the old ones. Has
anybody seen this behavior?

Have you tried creating a new MAPI profile and creating a new mail account?

Tried that, but to no avail. I deleted all accounts,
rebooted, and then created my account with a different
name. same results...old properties come back.
