email showing up as read in other users email account

Hello,

I'm running XP and have Outlook 97. I've setup my email under my login and
my friends email under his login. When I recieve an email, the email also
comes up under my friend's email account when he logs on. We are using
RoadRunner. I wasn't sure if this is an Outlook setting, or if this has
something to do with RoadRunner? My friend is the main account for
RoadRunner and I setup a sub account with a seperate email address, username
and password. How can I setup our emails up so that each of our emails come
to our account and only our account (not both).

Any help is appreciated.

Are you sharing the same Personal Folders (PST) file?

That probably is the problem. How can I seperate the two accounts into two
PST files? I"m not sure how to do that.

Make sure each of your Personal Folder services point to different PST
files. Check your profiles in the Control Panel's Mail applet
