Email slow sync

This is a very strange issue. My boss will do a send and receive and although we can see a bunch of mails on his web mail and iphone only a few will download. This will go on for a few hours with the newest ones coming in and the rest slowly trickle in until it is eventually in sync. This becomes a problem when he is in china and 12 hours different. When he syncs in the morn he only gets like the 5 or 10 latest emails even though there may be as many as 50. I would assume that when it connects it does a compare and makes a list of new docs then downloads them, any idea why it would not build a full list?

Please Help...Thanks.

How big is his Inbox? Have you tried clearing out his Inbox and/or
server cache?

Thanks for the suggestions. The mail file is huge 10+ gig but that another whole issue. the kb article talked about slow delivery...my issue is that it takes several send and receives to get them all.....the first will get qsome then the senond will get more....I think even if it is slow it should just take 1 send and recieve to get all new mails

But how big is the Inbox itself? That's one folder in Entourage that is
constantly getting checked and synced. If it's too big then you can see
the problems you're describing.

Select the Inbox itself and then look at the count of messages in the
lower left corner of the Entourage main window. If your user has more
than just a few hundred messages then he needs to move the bulk to a new
mail folder *outside* of the Inbox.

A lean Inbox means a better sync.

Hope this helps!

Actually it's not.

Send & Receive has no effect on an Exchange account in Entourage.
Entourage maintains, or attempts to maintain, a constant 100% sync with
the server. A large inbox will slow or stall the syncing process.

Filing Inbox messages to other folders or to disk is your first step to
solving this problem.
