email undeliverable get message "relaying not allowed"

i have windows xp-sp3 all updated-outlook 2003-i have been able to use this
successfully for a long time-yesterday when i sent email i get response from
system administrator that email is underliverable "relaying not allowed"
i use smtp.mail.yahoo.com for my mail delivery and always have--this problem
just developed yesterday--i am able to send email out of yahoo and cox.net
account that i also use--but i not able to use these smtp accounts in outlook

You really shouldn't use the DeLorean to get software releases from the
future ;-)

Anyway, configure your SMTP server to use authentication and try again.

thanks - i have tried both with and without authentication and still have the
same problem--if you have any other suggestions that would be great

It is not quite clear from your post if you have this issue for both
accounts or just one. If only a single account the mail server itself might
have an issue at the moment. You can modify your account settings for that
account to use the SMTP server of that other account so you can still send
out messages.

like the problem must somehow be within outlook

You mean it works when using the webinterface but not from within Outlook?
