Email won't go into main Inbox

I just started a new job and set up my email account with outlook using
IMAP/SMTP. Instead of automatically send my emails into the Inbox under
Personal Folders it created a separate area outside of Personal Folders with
my email address as the title and subfolders: Inbox, Junk, Sent, Spam, Trash,
and Search Folders. How do I get my email to come into the main inbox? Is
there a problem with the IMAP/STMP set up?

Right now my left hand looks like
Personal Folders (with all the default subfolders
Archive Folders (with subfolders)
Business Contact Manager
My Email Address (with the subfolders as I listed above)

I have tried dragging my email heading to the Personal Folders file, but
that did not work. The way it is set up now, I am not able to really delete
stuff (because there isn't a "deleted" folder) or create new subfolders.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

That's how IMAP works, Outlook will create an Offline Folder file (.OST)
that is a mirror image of the folder structure on the IMAP server:

In Outlook, all POP and Exchange accounts get aggregated into one
message store (.pst file). Each IMAP account gets its own message
store. Each HTTP account gets its own message store. Each message
store appears as a separate tree in the folders pane.

If you want your e-mail accounts aggregated under one message store, you
will need to use POP and/or Exchange on all of them.
