today I've sent out 2 emails and both were return, saying "The following
recipient(s) could not be reached:"
551 not our customer
this was done on both to different email addresses. What has happen that my
emails won't go out?

Who said your e-mail won't go out? So far, you've only shown that just 2
recipients cannot be reached, not that all recipients (beyond just those 2)
cannot be reached.

Did you configure the e-mail account defined within Outlook to authenticate
to the SMTP mail host?

If you'd bothered to do ANY searching in this group you would have found a
huge thread earlier today of which one post contained the following:

" From AT&T: I apologize but we are undergoing a system maintenance. Would
you please try
to check your client email program later today and see if it will work then.
This maintenance is intended to improve the service we offer you and we
regret any inconvenience. For the mean time, we suggest that you access your
email account online or we can temporarily change your outgoing mail server
and see if this resolve the issue."

I have had the exact same problem inthe last 2 days. Error message is:

"Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Sent: 2/21/2010 10:21 AM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' on 2/21/2010 10:21 AM
551 not our customer"

I spoke to me email provider, who claimed it was an issue with a recent XP
security patch conflicting with Outlook 2007. I did not beleive my provider,
so I tried a test with another email account. Same problem, so I can't blaim
my provider. Has MS posted anything about this glitch and what they are
doing about it?
