Email won't work after downloading Office 2003 Service Pack 2

After downloading Office 2003 Service Pack 2, my Outlook 2003 email no longer
sends and receives. i can neither get nor send email.

Any ideas?

Check the settings in your firewall/privacy software. It may be seeing the updated Outlook 2003 as a 'new' program version that
hasn't been authorized for internet access.

thanks. i tried that and it seems to be working now.
