Emailed file generates error

Hello
A file that has been emailed for a long time has suddenly generated the
following error when opend by the recipient:
“ Can’t create file: MyFile.xls. Right click the folder you want to
create the file in, and then click Properties on shortcut menu to check your
permissions for the folder.â€
Has anyone seen this that could might offer some assistance?
