Emailing Handouts

Greetings:

I've printed a set of "handouts" for my 30 slide presentation. I've been
asked to send, via email, a copy of the handouts to several people. When I
go to File -> Send to -> Word and choose Handouts, the file size is
massive - 100 MB! Why?

Obviously this can't be emailed. What is the best way to create a file from
my handouts that can be attached to an email?
