Emailing Word document

How can I get Outlook to open automatically whenever I
send a document from Word using File/Send to/Mail
recipient? At the moment I have to ensure that Outlook is
open before using the 'Send' command from Word.
I am using Office Pro XP with Windows XP.

In Outlook 2002, open Tools--Options and select the Mail Setup tab. Check
"Send immediately when connected" and then select any Advanced options you
may need. Note that this will only work if either you're on a full-time
broadband connection OR you've elected for Outlook to dial your connection
as needed.

Hmmm. Did I misunderstand her question? I could *swear* I'm now doing just
what she asked for...

You may get the new message to open but the full Outlook program does not
open. If you have Outlook open or TSR, you will see what you are seeing
now.

I get the feeling maybe this is just semantics. I think all she wanted to
do was have Outlook fire up and send the email-- I don't see where she
needed the full app available.
