Emails are coming as .eml - and as file folders instead of messages

My issue was that I had too many emails and all of my emails were not
showing up in my folder and for some - I could not even respond to.

I went thru the following steps:

1) Cleaning up my storage on email - deleted all of my big files and bought
it down 1.4GB

2) Backed up my user account on an external hard drive

3) Rebuilt / repaired my complete database

That fixed the issue of me finding my emails - however - now all of emails
are coming into my inbox as separate folders with an .eml attachment - and
they are also being shown under my "sent" file the same way....and I cannot
open any of the emails. What is the problem now and how can I fix it?????

This is a known issue.

One person did report this, but no one else has found this to work:

[While I can't pretend to claim that this solves problem of objects (emails,
events and contacts) appearing as .eml folders, ever since I changed my Junk
Email Protection from "Exclusive" to "High" the problem has stopped.]

The only fix is to create a new Identity. You will need to manually move
your data into a new Identity. How to manually move your data. (when import
fails and/or you need to move to a new Identity same version or revert to an
older version)

Rebuilds often only give you the opportunity to salvage your data. Since
yours did rebuild, you can most likely export your data. Try this and let me
know what happens.

Under File --> Export --> select all as Entourage archive (.rge) file. If
that is successful. That's the quickest and easiest method to move your data
over. If it fails, then try exporting everything BUT messages. Does that
work? If not, then export each one at a time. This will tell you where the
problems are located.

If it's messages, then download and run Jolly Roger's script. It will fail
on the folder with corruption. Then you try doing the divide and test to
locate the bad message(s).

I have never tried to salvage one of these files with the .eml issue, but
yours is small enough to upload. If you cannot do this yourself, contact me
off list. Send me an email:

Good luck with the process.
