Emails are disappearing from my sent mail box after afew days?

Hi,
For some reason my emails have started disappearing from my sent folder -
this looks to be happening after around 4 days. Can anybody suggest what
might be happening?
Could it be an auto archive function that has been activated by mistake, if
so where can I check?
Thanks
Jeff

Check in the Tools menu > Options > Other tab

Hi Vince,

There's no boxes checked for auto archiving, also tried right clicking on
sent items box, properties, autoarchive, this was also unchecked.

I'll have a further look round.

Thanks

Jeff

Perhaps you have a View set?
& whats wrong with using the Archive function?

Hi DL,

I did the view options, but I'll have another look in case I missed something.

Why don't I use the Archive function, not sure - never found the need.
Perhaps not the best way but I've always moved emails manually into year and
month folders. I find this OK when searching for old emails which I regularly
do i.e. on a word or name. Not sure if you can do that with archived emails,
another thing to find out.
However I did archive in the early days and eneded up i think with a PST.
file?? and had trouble opening it up, I think I saved the PST file to disc
and then I had trouble opening it up when on another PC .......... can't
remember now! I'm sure it is probably easier to archive perhaps I should look
into it.

Thanks

Jeff

A data file stored on a cd cannot be read by outlook, and in copying from cd
to hd you would need to turn off the read only attribute before, within
Outlook, you can open the data file

Do you sync with a handheld device?
