Emails being resent

We have Exchange 2007 and Entourage and every once in awhile a user's
account/machine whatever will re-send out emails that were already sent out
weeks before. Any insight would be great. This has happened to a number
of users in our District. As far as I can tell this is not a user issue
although I wish it were.

I use a Mac Pro running Leopard 10.5 and have the same problem. I believe it is a user problem. It has not happened in the last few days but it sure is a laborious and time-consuming issue.

I am providing a little more information after reading previous posts on this issue from May 2008.

I am using Entourage 2004. I previously had all POP accounts and emails were re-sent in the 1,000s - from 2006, 2007, and 2008. Yes, I do clean out my email, but these were messages that I deliberately kept. Some hosts, such as GMail, encourage leaving messages on the server and provide built-in archiving. I have feeds from GMail, as well as MobileMe and Comcast. Entourage re-sends mountains of messages, periodically, from all the hosts. This spells major trouble. And, it happens TOO FREQUENTLY! Twice a week, maybe. Then I may go two weeks, then it goes on its spell again.

Please, Mactopia - Microsoft - DO SOMETHING, PRONTO!

I have now changed my MobileMe accounts to IMAP and overhauled just about all of the accounts - changed the names. It has been a pain and is a massive adjustment.

Entourage needs major review on the Microsoft side. Clients cannot do all the work and suffering!

First, please keep in mind that these newsgroups are peer-to-peer. There
isn't much we can do. The best way is to send feedback to Microsoft .

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications.

I will see if I can find out anything that might help and get back.

Were you able to find out any info on why old email would be resent?
I checked the user's computer and she did not re-send anything herself.
We do have POP turned on on the Exchange server. Could this be an issue?

Have not received anything back. I never expect a timely response, but you
never know.

The POP turned on could be an issue. Certainly worth checking out.

If you send me a message off list, I will respond to you directly as well as
on this newsgroup when I get a reply.
