emails disapear

Hi, i have a problem in outlook 2003 in that some incoming mail doesnt go
into the inbox or in fact into any folder. i Have looked at all the replies
to this problem and my settings are for messages. I do get a notification
envelope pop up but know description of the email. Can anyone help?

Does the message appear in the Unread Mail search folder?
