emails duplicating when deleting

I am trying to delete emails in the Deleted Items bin (do not want to delete
all). When I highlighting multiple emails to delete, they start duplicating.
For example, I tried to delete one email and ended up with 50 of the same
email. It is a vicious cycle, the more I delete the more show up. Using
Outlook 2003.

Sounds like you're dragging the messages when selecting them. Click a message
and press or click Delete.

You shouldn't be keeping messages you may want later in the Deleted Items bin.
That's like putting your paper mail in a wastebasket in order to read it
later. Someone may empty that basket and then you're out of luck.
