emails sit in Outbox, can't receive or send

I sent a 7mb email then the above problems began. Emails are being received
by people i send them to but they do not leave the Outbox. Also, i cannot
delete mails from the Inbox or Deleted Box. Is there some form of memory
capacoty for emails / contacts, as i cannot add to my Contacts list
