Emails

I am wondering if there is a way to tone down all of the emails that are sent
when I make changes to the plan. I am getting numerous complaints on all of
the useless emails that the project server sends out. If I change one
resource and republish the project, it sends out an email to every user
listing all of their tasks and I am making changes to the plan a few times a
week. Any help would be much appreciated!

In the future, please tell us what version of Project Server you are using.
2002, 2003, or 2007? From your problem description, it sounds like you are
using 2007, so I will answer based on that assumption.

The only solution to this problem is to ask each user to set up his/her own
e-mail subscriptions to Alerts and Reminders from Project Server. Ask them
to do the following:

1. Log into PWA.
2. Click Personal Settings - Manage My Alerts and Reminders.
3. Deselect the "My project tasks are modified" option.
4. Click the Save button.

Hope this helps.

Daniel,

Currently I believe the only thing you can do is have the resources adjust
their notification settings in PWA to not send an email for task
modifications.

Dale and Darrell suggestion is the easiest way to control this, but if
you want finer control, you can look into custom development options:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb968451.aspx
describes using a custom event handler to change the email messages
that are sent.
