EMBED Equation 3

EMBED Equation 3

In my Word text, suddenly all equations disappeared and were replaced by
"Embed Equation 3".
I tried Alt+F9 to toggle but it does not work. I tried to select the whole
doc, equations one by one, not to select anything--nothing works.
What to do?

Alt+F9 is what you need to do but you may need to do it twice in
succession - reason being that if some fields are shown as field codes and
some as results, the first time will switch all to field code view and the
second then switch all to result view.

To toggle an individual field you can select it and press Shift+F9.
