Embed multi-page-Visio document in Word?

N

nomike

I have a visio document with 3 sheets and want to embed (as link via
OLE) all 3 in a word document.

However in word I could choose the file I want to embed but I could
not choose the sheet inside the file. The only way is to open the file
in visio, switch to e.g. the second sheet and click save. But now,
when I update the embedded objects in Word all 3 are displaying the
second sheet.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Hello Michael,

You could either use copy (the respective Visio page) and paste special
(linked) into Word, or edit your existing links in Word. To edit the
existing links (based on 2007) try the following:

1) Click the Microsoft Office button in the top left hand corner of Word.

2) Select Prepare / Edit links to files.

3) Select your respective link from the list of links and click Change
Source...

4) In the Change Source dialog, navigate to your file and select it, then
click the Item... button on the right.

5) In the Set Item dialog add the following: "Drawing\~Page-1" (where
"Page-1" is your page name) and click ok.

6) Back in the Links dialog click the Update Now button and click OK to
finish.

You can carryout the same procedure for each of your links, but note that
the Paste Special method does this all automatically for you.

Hope that helps.

Best regards

John
