Embed Word into access 2003

I would like to be able to complete the following:

I have a membership database, with four types of members and these members
have different time periods for membership.

I have four letter templates for each type of member and I need to send out
to these members a letter and a new membership card, the letters are
formatted in a way that cannot be achieved in access (logos etc), but I add
the details from access though mail merges…

What I want to do is replace this process into access so once I have printed
the letter I can mark the member’s record as this being printed. This will
save me a lot of duplicated effort.

Can anyone suggest a way forward?…
