embed xls file

How do you embed a xls 97 file into word 97 and only icon appear and after
double-click it, it will open up? Please advise. Thanks.

This works in Word 2K, hopefully in 97. In Word,

Insert -- Object -- Create from file. Once you've browsed, check "Display as
icon" & OK.
