I am having problem with opening embedded Excel object in Word document on
my machine.

The error message says: "This object was created in Excel. This application
is not available to open this object. Make sure the application is properly
installed and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed."

It works fine for my collegaues with the same Office version. They have the
same antivirus software (TrendMicro OfficeScan) installed.

Windows XP SP2
Office 2003 Professional + all updates+SP installed.

Try opening one of the Office apps, go to the HELP menu and run the Repair
option. This will ensure that all apps are properly registered in Windows on
your computer.

Thank you for your prompt answer.

I have re-installed that application twice. First I upgraded it from version 2002 (XP) and then completely uninstalled and installed it again. I cleared the registry (using Advanced Uninstaller v8). Unfortunately the problem still exists.

Any other ideas?

Dariusz

Hi - I'm having the same trouble, but with Office 2007 and XP. I've run
Office Diagnostics (nothing wrong) and installed SP1 for Office 2007, and
rebooted.

Try deleting the Word DataKey.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\version number\Word\Data
