Embedded Font

My Word 2003 document will not let me edit or save.
Message comes up that it has an embedded font. I went to
Tools, Options, Save and deselected embedded font, but it
still won't save. Does this have to do with styles? I
used a user-created template with many styles. This has
never happened to me before. HELP! Thanks!
